Self-described “cheapskate” and author Jeff Yeager will speak at the Edmonds Library, 650 Main St., on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m.

Yeager has published the personal finance books: “Don’t Throw That Away; The Cheapskate Next Door” and “The Ultimate Cheapskate’s road Map to True Riches.” The topic of his speech is a counter to the holiday season’s commercialism: “Finding Wholesale Happiness in a Retail World,” where he discusses practical advice on spending money, happiness and our consumer culture.

Yeager blends offbeat humor and practical advice for living a better life. He believes people can have a happier, healthier and full life if they spend and consume less. He has been seen on the “Today Show” and “Extreme Cheapskates,” and heard on NPR, Sirius Radio, and “Oprah & Friends.”

Yeager will also speak at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7 at Lynnwood Library, 19200 44th Ave. W.
