According to our online news partner The Seattle Times, Edmonds Woodway trailed by as many as 14 points early in the second half, but was much more active at both ends and came roaring back. The Warriors (7-2) didn’t take their first lead of the game until Courtney Simpson nailed a three-pointer for the left side for a 51-50 advantage with 1:47 to play in the game.
Fueling the Edmonds Woodway rally was the trio of Mady Burdett (15 points), Maddie Tudor (13) and Missy Peterson (12). The game wasn’t decided until Peterson grabbed a missed free throw by Emily Massad with 4.1 seconds showing, went the length of the floor and missed a short runner off the back rim at the final buzzer.
