The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors used a 9-0 run to start the third quarter, then held on to defeat the Stanwood Spartans 50-44 in the nightcap of day one of the Mountlake Terrace Holiday Tournament Tuesday.

Senior Mady Burdett led the Warriors in scoring with 15 points; teammate Missy Peterson had a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds in the win.

At 44 points, the Spartans were held to their lowest points production of the season. Senior Haley Strowbridge tallied 14 points to lead Stanwood in the loss.

E-W will close out the Mountlake Terrace Holiday Tournament on Wednesday, Dec. 23, with a 7:30 p.m. match-up against the 7-1 Inglemoor Vikings, a 75-53 victor over Kamiak earlier in the first day of the two-day event.
