The City of Edmonds will repair a damaged sewer main on 5th Avenue between Dayton and Main Streets. Trenchless cured in place pipe (CIPP) technology will be used to minimize construction impacts and avoid damage to the existing street pavement.
During construction 5th Avenue South will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking between Dayton and Main Streets so the contractor can access manholes on either side of the repair. Sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians. Also expect brief delays for traffic control operations when traveling thru the intersection of Dayton Street and 5th Avenue South.
Businesses will not experience any interruptions to their sanitary sewer service.
Construction is scheduled to be completed in a single day but there is a possibility that it could finish up the following day. For the safety of the construction workers, traveling public and pedestrians, motorists should use caution when driving thru the construction zone.
