Lynnwood Police and Edmonds Community College campus security received a report Tuesday of an alleged sexual assault that happened Monday night.
According to the report, four men ages 23 through 27 allegedly pulled a 20-year-old international student into Gold Park, located at 6421 200th St. SW. in Lynnwood, as she walked by, then sexually assaulted her.
One of the suspects is described as a dark-skinned man wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, a dark or black ball cap and a large metallic rectangular belt buckle. He is approximately six feet tall with a muscular build. Two other suspects are described as a light-skinned man and a dark-skinned man with no other identifiers. There are no details on the fourth suspect at this time.
The woman is being cared for by counseling and health care personnel at Edmonds Community College. Lynnwood Police and the college are investigating the alleged attack.
If you have any information about the attack, you are asked to call the Lynnwood Police Department at 425-670-5600 or the Edmonds Community College safety department at 425-754-0154.
College officials encourage students and employees to choose well-lit, populated routes whenever possible and to use popular bus stops. Make sure you can hear what’s going on around you by using only one earbud at a time if listening to music or talking on the phone.
This sounds like the woman was raped. Why use the euphemism of “sexual assault?”
I think it falls into rape, allegedly makes it sound like there is a big question regarding the women’s allegations?
This is all to common, and barely gets News or community attention. It’s absolutely disgusting! Sexual assault by four men, that’s a gang rape, and how it should be described by police and media. If the community is not up in arms and out trying to find these suspects then they are culpable.
Third such crime in 2 years at and around Edmonds Community College, not acceptable.
