Edmonds School District Superintendent Nick Brossoit will make a presentation and be available for questions during a Replacement Technology/Capital Levy Information Night to be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Edmonds Senior Center, 220 Railroad Ave., on the Edmonds waterfront.
The event is being hosted by the 32nd District Democrats, which is sponsoring the meeting as a public service, said organizer Alicia Crank.
Voters living within the Edmonds School District are being asked to consider a replacement technology/capital improvements levy during the special election season. The measure will appear on the Feb. 9, 2016 ballot.
Ballots were mailed to voters on Thursday, Jan. 21. You can see a sample ballot here. You can learn more on the Edmonds School District levy webpage.
The four-year, $59-million measure will replace the 2012 voter-approved measure that is expiring in 2016.
The Edmonds School District serves the cities of Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Edmonds, as well as portions of Brier and unincorporated Snohomish County.
Thank you for sharing this. I just want to underscore that this is indeed being offered to the community as a public service. The 32nd District Democrats have already voted to not take a position on the levy.
Correction: the 32nd did not discuss taking a position.
Can’t imagine why the 32nd District Democrats don’t take a position. The school district is in need of repairs, updating and in some cases replacement of schools. Remember the educational environment for our children is so important for the future in America.
Hi Jane,
Please note the correction to my initial comment. It wasn’t discussed at the last meeting. Sorry for the confusion.
