It’s the time of year for pomp and circumstance, as the City of Edmonds at its Tuesday council meeting will swear in its newly-elected officials: Mayor Dave Earling and Councilmembers Diane Buckshnis, Tom Mesaros, Mike Nelson, Dave Teitzel and Neil Tibbott. The council will also elect a new president and president pro tem.
Also on the council agenda:
- issuing a resolution thanking Councilmember Adrienne Fraley-Monillas for her service as council president.
- reappointing the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee members for 2016.
- recognizing 2015 retiring board and commission members.
- reappointing Brian Borofka and Lois Broadway to the Architectural Design Board; Beverly Shaw Starkovich to the Edmonds Arts Commission.
- reappointing four Historic Preservation Commissioners: Eric Livingston, Tim Raetzlof, Emily Scott and Larry Vogel.
- appointing council committee representatives for 2016.
- approving resolution appointing a representative and alternate to the Snohomish County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corporation.
- considering passage of the 2015 Non-Represented Compensation Study.
- considering an amendment to and renewal of interlocal agreement with City of Mill Creek for a Domestic Violence Coordinator.
The council will also discuss the following items under the study session (non-action) portion of its meeting:
- the November 2015 Monthly Budgetary Financial Report.
- a services agreement with Sorenson Forensics, LLC for Biological Screening & DNA Testing Services, which Edmonds police use for analysis of evidence for property crimes.
- the audiovisual upgrade project for the council and court chambers.
