  2. First time I am seeing this photo. It looks like a female Sharp-shinned Hawk. Among many raptors, including the three in the genus Accipiter (Sharp-shinned Hawk, Cooper’s Hawk, and Northern Goshawk), the female is larger than the male. With an adult female Sharp-shinned, the cheeks sport the rusty-colored feathers seen on the chest as in this photo. The dark gray head extends down the nape of the neck and that appears to be the case in this photo, although it is not clearly seen. The legs look quite thin, which is also a field mark of the Sharp-shinned Hawk. Both hawks can be found in Edmonds.
