Seminar to help family and friends of people with mental illness

color-verdantA seminar at Verdant Health in Lynnwood will help friends, family and professionals with setting boundaries for people with mental illness.

The panel discussion on Thursday, Jan. 21 will help those close to a person with a mental illness clearly communicate their boundaries. It will be geared toward friends, family, professionals and volunteers.

Psychologist Jane Adams and social worker Lauren Rainbow will host the discussion. Adams is the author of 12 books, including “Boundary Intelligence.” Rainbow works with the Everett Police Department to support homeless or mentally ill individuals who come into contact with the criminal justice system.

The free presentation on Jan. 21 runs from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Verdant Community Wellness Center, located at 4710 196th St. S.W. It is free and open to the public.
