Throwback Thursday is happening at the historic Edmonds Theater. In honor of the movie’s 25th anniversary, the local movie theater is hosting a free showing of “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 8:30 p.m.
“Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” is a romantic/adventure film and an adaptation of the Robin Hood myth directed by Kevin Reynolds and starring Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman, Alan Rickman, Christian Slater, and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. The movie follows the escape and return home of Robin Hood (Kevin Costner) from the Crusades aided by Azeem (Morgan Freeman). They return to England and find that the Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman) has destroyed Robin Hood’s family home and enacted exorbitant taxes. Allying themselves with a band of Sherwood Forest outlaws (Christian Slater) Robin Hood and Azeem dedicate themselves to the redistribution of wealth and the rescue of Maid Marian (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio).
