Local writers know they can join free year-round writing groups meeting weekly through nonprofit EPIC Group Writers. And in the fall, Write on the Sound (WOTS) holds an annual conference. WOTS is currently seeking instructors for the 2016 conference with applications open until March 7. Details can be found here.

Writers seeking a spring getaway are invited to a Portland workshop led by Larry Brooks, a popular WOTS instructor. Award-winning local author, Mindy Halleck, of Literary Liaisons, will participate in the workshop, which runs April 3 – 7. Here are the details:

WRITERS WANTED for Your Story on Steroids: A Four-Day Novel Development Intensive workshop April 3 – 7. Bring your idea for that novel you’ve always wanted to write or a novel in progress, to the Benson Hotel where writing guru Larry Brooks, author of the bestselling book ‘Story Engineering and Story Physics,’ will be the featured presenter, along with story coach Jennifer Blanchard at a four-and-a-half day event in Portland, Oregon.
