Lynnwood police arrested a bank robbery suspect on Friday afternoon.
Officers responded at 12:45 p.m. to Heritage Bank, located at 19510 58th Ave. W. in Lynnwood. Tellers told police the suspect passed a demand note for money. No weapon was displayed and there were no injuries.
Bank employees told police the suspect was wearing a fake beard and sunglasses. He took an undetermined amount of money, then fled the bank.
Ten minutes later, officers located the suspect in a car on 175th Street Southwest near I-5. The suspect, a 28-year-old man from Tacoma, was driving a stolen car with stolen plates. He was taken into custody without incident. The stolen car was impounded.
Detectives are now working with bank employees to determine just how much money was stolen. The suspect was taken to the Lynnwood Jail for further investigation.
Charges haven’t been filed as of 2:50 p.m. on Friday, but charges are expected.
Shouldn’t this sentence read, “He was taken into custody without incident.”? Not, “He taken into custody without incident.”
Yes, just fixed the typo!
