Local Rotary Clubs collect hundreds of pairs of shoes, socks

Shoes resized(1)Rotary Clubs of Lynnwood, Edmonds Daybreakers, Edmonds Noon, Alderwood Terrace and Mill Creek offered their thanks to the community for donations of shoes and socks during the month of March for kids in need.

“We were able to collect over 200 pairs of shoes and about 100 pairs of socks,” said Lynnwood Rotary’s Debbie Bodal.

The shoes will be distributed to Clothes for Kids, Volunteers of America and Cocoon House. Shoes and socks can still be donated directly to Clothes for Kid, Volunteers of America and Cocoon House. Shoe sizes most in need are preschool sizes 3-13.5 and elementary sizes 1-6.

“We thank First Security Bank in Lynnwood, HomeStreet Bank in Mountlake Terrace and Belly & Co in Edmonds for participating in our efforts,” Bodal said, adding that the five Rotary Clubs are looking forward to next year’s shoe drive. “We can accomplish greatness in our local and international communities through partnerships,” she said.

  1. Our Clothes For Kids families, staff, and volunteers thank the Rotary Clubs and the community for their generous donations of shoes and socks. With the support of the community CFK is able to continue our mission of provide clothing and shoes to low income students in Snohomish County.
