Scene in Edmonds: City crews clean up after storm

Edmonds resident Ken Pickle shared these photos along with his appreciation for how City of Edmonds Public Works Street & Storm crew helped with clean-up following Sunday’s storm.

“We had a large limb (about half the tree) blow down early afternoon on Sunday. It knocked down some mail boxes and was blocking about half the street, but certainly was not an emergency. Our police drove by to check it out shortly after our call. About 6 p.m. Jim and Mike from our Storm Crew showed up with a huge bulldozer and were able to move the limb to the side of the cul-de-sac. It was their last job of the day and they easily could have skipped it till later in the week; I’m sure they were tired from a hard day’s work. They told us that they were pretty sure a crew with a “chipper” would come by later in the week.”

At 8:45 a.m. Monday, the chipper crew from Edmonds Public Works showed up and “in less than 30 minutes they had everything chipped and were ready to head to their next job,” Pickle said. “Our hats off to Kyle, Brian, Schuyler and Bill. They really knew what they were doing! Yes, we are indeed fortunate to live in a city like Edmonds!”

  1. That’s fantastic, I wonder when when they will remove the huge fir tree blocking the entire street on Erben.
