‘State of the Schools’ topic of Edmonds Chamber lunch Thursday

Carin Chase, newly elected to the Edmonds School District Board of Directors, and Tonya Drake, Vice President of College Relations and Advancement at Edmonds Community College, will speak on the State of the Schools at the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce luncheon this Thursday, March 24, at Scott’s Bar & Grill.

Chase operated a family-owned general contracting business for 20 years after graduating from the University of Washington in 1992. She is a graduate student at the Evans School and was recently elected to the Edmonds School Board and the Snohomish County Charter Review Commission. She also serves on the Snohomish County Human Rights Commission.

Her son, Chase, attends Mountlake Terrace High school as a STEM student and Ultimate Frisbee athlete.

Tonya Drake provides leadership in the areas of strategic planning, research and assessment, marketing and public information, strategic enrollment management, grants development, and the Edmonds CC Foundation.

She has more than 20 years of experience working in higher education and holds a Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from Arizona State University.

Thursday’s meeting will be from 11-12:30 p.m. at Scott’s Bar and Grill, 8115 Lake Ballinger Way, Edmonds. You can register for the  meeting online at www.edmondswa.com. Admission is $20 members/$25 non-members.
