The MSHH Donor Closet in Edmonds is urgently in need of volunteers who are “people persons” with retail experience, and also needs volunteer drivers to make deliveries and pickups of donations.

“This would be a perfect opportunity for someone who no longer works full-time, but would like to apply their skills in a part-time role that seriously helps people with disabilities,” said MSHH President Richard Marin. “The personal satisfaction you feel at the end of the day is incredible.”

Since 1999, MSHH has supported people with multiple sclerosis in Washington state who are experiencing financial difficulties. To raise the money to do this mission, they operate a store that accepts donations of no longer needed medical and mobility equipment. They then refurbish the equipment and make it available at a reasonable “suggested minimum donation” amount.

General Manager Gene Borden said, “Many of the good people who volunteer here, myself included, have no connection to the MS disease. They are here because they have time and want to be involved in something much bigger than themselves.”

The MSHH Donor Closet is run entirely by volunteers, so all proceeds above expenses go to assist persons living in Washington state with MS who are temporarily experiencing financial difficulty.

The Donor Closet is seeking friendly, helpful people to help run the store between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. any day between Tuesday and Saturday, two to four times a month. No previous medical or mobility equipment experience is required. Drivers are also needed between those hours. The MSHH Donor Closet is located at 409 Howell Way, Edmonds.
