Dates set for 2016 Edmonds Waterfront Festival, 5K fun run

WFF 2016Time to mark your calendar for the Edmonds Waterfront Festival, which will run June 3, 4 and 5 on the Edmonds waterfront. For the second year, the event includes a 5K fun run, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 4 at Civic Field, 610 6th Ave. N. A Kids Dash will follow at 9:30 a.m.

If you register for the run before or May 25, fees are $25 for the run, which includes a T-shirt, and $10 for Kids Dash (no shirt). After May 25, prices increase to $35/run and $15/Kids Dash. All proceeds from the run benefit Washington Kids in Transition, which provides basic needs to homeless children residing in Washington state, including food, emergency closets and hygiene kits.

Held at the Port of Edmonds Marina, the annual Waterfront Festival is a major fundraiser with proceeds supporting Rotary programs and services. Among programs that benefit include college scholarships for local youth, support for YWCA transitional housing for women and their children, YMCA Partners with Youth, Boy Scouts, literacy, housing and water projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America, and Rotary First Harvest service to local food banks. 

The three day event will feature arts and crafts vendors, a food court, kids’ activities, a beer and wine garden, and classic boat and hydroplane displays.

Admission is $3 and children 12 and under are free. Hour are Friday, 3-10 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
