Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 479 calls March 24-30: 372 emergency medical aid calls, 41 motor vehicle collisions, 25 fires, 12 service calls, 9 natural gas leaks and 20 automatic fire alarms.
March 25
COLLISION: At 5:50 p.m., a three-car collision was reported at Ash Way and Maple Road north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.
March 26
CAR FIRE: At 5:20 p.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire in the 22000 block of 52nd Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace. No one was injured.
March 27
COLLISION: At 5:23 p.m., a car struck a barrier on the southbound I-5 off ramp north of 164th Street Southwest north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported two patients to an area hospital.
FIRE: At 8:06 p.m., firefighters responded for a fire alarm at Madrona K-8 School. They arrived at the school to find black smoke billowing from the building and called for a two-alarm fire response. Firefighters kept the fire contained to the faculty lounge. There was smoke and water damage to an adjacent hall and office. No injuries were reported. The cause is undetermined.
March 28
HOUSE FIRE: At 1:17 p.m., a fire was reported in a home in the 13700 block of 65th Place West in the Picnic Point area north of Edmonds. Smoke and flames were visible on the second and third floor of the three-story, 4,500-square-foot house when firefighters arrived. Crews quickly extinguished the fire. No one was at home at the time and no injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $250,000. The cause is still under investigation.
COLLISION: At 2:48 p.m., a two-car collision was reported in the northbound lanes of I-5 south of 164th Street Southwest. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.
COLLISION: At 4:20 p.m., a two-car collision occurred in the 13500 block of Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.
March 29
COLLISION: At 7:51 a.m., a child was struck by a car traveling at a low rate of speed at 208th Street Southwest and 76th Avenue West in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the injured child to an area hospital.
COLLISION: At 7:58 a.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 8000 block of 196th Street Southwest in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.
March 30
COLLISION: At 3:56 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at Highway 99 and Lincoln Way north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported two patients to an area hospital.
