Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling will participate in a ribbon- cutting ceremony for a solar panel system that was recently installed on the campus of Edmonds Lutheran Church. The ribbon cutting will be one of several activities planned to commemorate Earth Day.
The solar photovoltaic system was in large part donated by A&R Solar. “Doing social good is baked into our DNA at A&R. We believe that solar energy can make the world a better place in a very fundamental way,” said Reeves Clippard, co-founder of A&R Solar. “We’re committed to helping organizations gain access to solar energy by donating our time and a share of our profits to projects such as the one.”
In addition to the ribbon cutting, there will be an information fair that will host booths on beekeeping, community gardens, free community dining programs, international solar projects and international water projects.
A&R Solar will also be sponsoring a free workshop on the benefits of solar energy at 12:30 p.m. All of the following programs are free and open to everyone.
Edmonds Lutheran Church is located at 23525 84th Ave. W.
