Sherry Hinds was delighted to learn this week that she won a $100 Amazon Gift Card, after being picked at random from those subscribing to the just-launched My Edmonds News text alert system for breaking news.
Hinds, who has lived in Edmonds for more than nine years, will be retiring soon from her job as a law office assistant in the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office. She said the gift card — supplied courtesy of Kaufer DMC — will come in handy as she starts her own business, Micari & Co. “I will be selling luxurious baby blankets handmade by me in the GroWashington Stores in Snohomish and Sultan; and the newly remodeled one in Everett when it opens up in June,” she said.
Hinds said she registered for the mobile alerts for the same reason that she is a regular reader of My Edmonds News: “I want to know what is happening in our town of Edmonds.”
