Newly elected officers for the VFW and its Auxiliary were installed at the VFW District 1 meeting last month. Those elected will serve a year-long term of duty. There are eight VFW Posts in District 1, which covers all of Snohomish County.
Auxiliary officers were installed by Louise French, who is a member of the Sultan Auxiliary. Members of the VFW were installed by former Department of Washington Commander Fred Green.
Don Wischmann (Everett) was installed as District 1 Commander, for what will be his second year in that leadership role. Wischmann’s major goal is to continue to be proactive in the recruitment of new members, which is vitally important in light of the aging population of the VFW membership.
The newly installed District 1 officers are:
Commander Don Wischmann (Everett)
Senior Vice Commander Patrick Kelly (Everett)
Junior Vice Commander Jim Traner (Edmonds)
Quartermaster Ron Haley (Lynnwood)
Surgeon Elmer Johnson (Snohomish)
Chaplain Debbie Mund (Arlington)
Judge Advocate Ken Kosters (Monroe)
First Year Trustee Jerry Stackpole (Monroe)
Second Year Trustee Otis Wolf (Snohomish)
Third Year Trustee Don Whedon (Edmonds)
After having served as President for the past two years, Tami Wagoner was replaced by newly elected President Marcella Raymond, who has been active in the Auxiliary for many years. The newly installed officers of the Auxiliary are:
President Marcella Raymond (Arlington)
Sr. Vice President Louise French (Sultan)
Jr. Vice President Mary Davenport (Arlington)
Secretary Arden King (Gold Bar)
Treasurer Verna Mines (Arlington)
Chaplain Jan Beam (Lynnwood)
