Getting their kicks at the 2016 Waterfront Festival Fun Run

More than 100 runners of all ages turned out on a gorgeous Saturday morning at Edmonds Civic Field to be part of this year’s Waterfront Festival Fun Run.

“We’ve had a great response this year, with 95 early registrations,” said event manager Darlene Stern, as she and event staff pitched in to sign up a crowd of last-minute runners. “Some folks probably held off to see about the weather, but with today’s sun and blue skies they’re flocking to sign up.”

Run by the Edmonds Rotary and sponsored by 1st Security Bank, Umpqua Bank, Lynnwood Honda, My Edmonds News, Kaufer DMC, the 5K run covered a course through downtown Edmonds and along Sunset Avenue.

The 2016 Waterfront Festival runs through this weekend at the Edmonds Marina. See more information and a complete list of events here.

  1. The Fit4Mom Stroller Striders also did a ‘warm up or ‘cool down’ at Olympic Beach Park. I’d forgotten about the WFF Fun Run and didn’t make the connection. They looked like they were having a lot of fun.

    1. FIT4MOM Edmonds has classes for moms with stroller-aged kiddos Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 9:30am for all local mamas! We also offer bootcamp like classes on Mondays and Wednesday from 7:45pm and Saturdays at 7:00am for women without kids in tow. We invite our local women to come out and try a class for free anytime! 🙂
