Sunshine and blue skies drew a crowd to the Port of Edmonds Marina Friday afternoon for Day 1 of the three-day Edmonds Waterfront Festival, hosted by the Edmonds Rotary Noon Club.

Admission is $3 but kids 12 and under are free.

A 5K fun run Saturday will benefit Washington Kids in Transition. Learn more here.

This annual festival is a major fundraiser with proceeds supporting Rotary programs and services. Among programs that benefit include college scholarships for local youth. Since 1976, the Rotary Club of Edmonds has awarded more than 283 scholarships totaling over $252,500 to graduating seniors from Edmonds-Woodway, Meadowdale and Scriber Lake High Schools.

The Rotary Club of Edmonds also supports YWCA transitional housing for women and their children, YMCA Partners with Youth, Boy Scouts, literacy, housing and water projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America and Rotary First Harvest service to local food banks. Visit www.edmondswaterfrontfestival.org for a complete listing of supported programs and services.

The festival continues Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5. Hours are:
Saturday 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
Sunday 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
