Edmonds Art Commission selects young artist for exhibition

Edmonds-Woodway student Shelly Raivo has been selected to showcase her work by the Edmonds Arts Commission.

The Edmonds Arts Commission is presenting an exhibit by Edmonds-Woodway student Shelly Raivo, shown in the McDevitt Young Artists Display Case at the Frances Anderson Center.

The show includes acrylics on artboard and paper completed for class assignments, as well as independent study after school. Shelly has taken art classes, but is primarily self-taught. She is inspired by Webcomic artists and other freelance illustrators. Shelly hopes to obtain a college degree in illustration and pursue a career in art.

Her artwork is on display through August in the Frances Anderson Center at 700 Main Street. The McDevitt Young Artists Display Case is next to the second-floor elevator and is available for viewing during building hours, Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
