As part of its 2016 repaving program, the City of Edmonds said that Meadowdale Beach Road will be closed to through traffic on Tuesday, July 5. The contractor expects to begin paving operations at 7 a.m. and wrap up before 5 p.m.
Local residents will still be able to access their homes, the city said.
On Tuesday, June 28, the contractor ground off the top two inches of old pavement. On Tuesday, July 5, he
will be replacing it with new asphalt pavement.
If you typically use Meadowdale Beach Road as a through street, you should seek alternate routes July 5. For the safety of construction workers, the traveling public and pedestrians, motorists are advised to use caution when driving through the
construction zones.

I wish the city had made a similar announcement for 174th St SW. At this time, no one is being allowed to pass, not even residents.
Here’s the link to the schedule for all street overlays planned this summer, which we published a while ago, in case folks want to reference it: https://myedmondsnews.com/2016/06/city-to-begin-2016-pavement-overlays-in-edmonds-week-of-june-27/
Thank you, read it when it was published. But a specific announcement of closure, as done for Meadowdale Road would have been beneficial to residents who now can not get out to make previous appointments or go to work.
Understood — perhaps someone from the city can provide more specific information on a regular basis? If they can, I am happy to publish it.
