Edmonds American Legion Post installs new officers

American legionAfter more than 10 years, Les Abel is stepping down as the Commander of Local 66 Edmonds Post of the American Legion. In July, Jim Collins, who has served over 33 years in different capacities at Post 66, was installed as the new commander.

Abel has served over 40 years with the Edmonds Post. Throughout his career, he provided “vast knowledge and expertise in guiding the post to what it is today,” said Jim Traner, post finance officer.

The newly installed officers who will serve for 2016 through
2017 are as follows:

Adjutant Dennis Peterson
Asst. Adjutant Joan Wyant
Finance Officer Jim Traner
Chaplain Gerald Burton
Sgt. At Arms John Shelton
Service Officer Paul Russo
