Edmonds police are seeking a 21-year-old Everett-area man who was driving recklessly and crashed his car in area of Highway 99 near Burlington Coat Factory Monday night, then fled the scene.
The suspect, 21-year-old Joshua Blackwood, is from the Everett area. At approximately 7:30 p.m. Monday night, he was spotted driving recklessly, but when an Edmonds police officer tried to stop him, he took off at a high rate of speed. After a short time, the officer stopped the chase but police later found his silver car, shown above, crashed on the off ramp from State Route 104 to the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near Burlington Coat Factory.
When the officer arrived, Blackwood got out and ran off, police said. Police then discovered that the suspect had three misdemeanor warrants — one of them for reckless driving. felony eluding of a police officer.
A K9 unit was brought in to track Blackwood but was not able to locate him. He is now being sought for felony eluding of a police officer.
