Republican 32nd District candidates to meet voters July 5, 18


election-2016-buttonThe primary election is Aug. 2, and Alvin Rutledge and David Schirle — Republican candidates in the 32nd Legislative District — will be available to meet voters during two upcoming events in July.

Tuesday, July 5, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Mountlake Terrace Community Senior Center, 23000 Lakeview Dr., Mountlake Terrace.

Monday, July 18, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Shoreline Library, 345 N.E. 175th St., Shoreline.

The 32nd District serves the cities of Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, North Seattle, Shoreline and Woodway, as well as certain unincorporated areas in Snohomish County. You can see the boundaries here.

Rutledge will face incumbent Democrat State Rep. Cindy Ryu and independent candidate Keith Smith, while Schirle will run against incumbent Democrat State Rep. Ruth Kagi, Democratic challenger Wes Irwin and Alex Hart, a Libertarian. The two leading candidates in the primary advance to the November general election regardless of party.
