Edmonds police Thursday morning arrested a man in the 300 block of 3rd Avenue North after he was found in possession of a stolen gun.

The arrest occurred around 9:30 a.m. after a plainclothes officer observed two males and one female in their 20s acting suspiciously, said Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Josh McClure. The officer was about to make contact with the trio when patrol officers responded to the scene, responding to a tip from a citizen who had called 911 to report the same activity.

After obtaining the suspects’ names, police discovered that one of males had a warrant out for his arrest. During a search, police found a firearm in the suspect’s pocket, which the man admitted was stolen, McClure said. Police are also investigating the possibility that the group had connections to drug activity, he added.

The suspect was transported to Snohomish County Jail.

  1. Attention criminals: if you bring your crime here the only question is which bunch of cops is going to catch you first.

  2. They were putting the cuffs on him as I drove by this morning. Thanks for filling me in. That sort of police activity is unusual in the Edmonds Bowl in broad daylight.
