Laura Zeck, owner of Zinc Art + Object in downtown Edmonds, recently provided an insider’s tip about her new venture, ZINC contemporary in Pioneer Square:

“We opened a second gallery, ZINC contemporary in Pioneer Square, on Aug. 4. We wanted to expand what we were presenting, and it is just a quick train ride from Edmonds to King Street Station (just a block from our new gallery). We will be bringing our featured artists’ work to Edmonds as well.

“The current show, ‘Beneath an Eyelid Lies a Moon,’ features sculptural ceramics of Jacob Foran. The pieces are childlike and otherworldly and convey a sense of timelessness, as ancient relics from an archaeological site or a futuristic time capsule.

“Our inaugural show in August was Verge, featuring stunning work from three of our favorite women artists: Liz Tran, Lydia Bassis, and Kate Sweeney. You can see some of their work here.

“ZINC contemporary is open in Pioneer Square Thursday- Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., by appointment and for special events of which we are planning many. Folks can sign up for our mailing list here for sneak previews and updates. And come visit us in Edmonds at 102 3rd Ave South, Suite B.”
