Update: Woman who was pinned between cars Saturday in serious condition

EPDpatchEdmonds police provided a brief update Sunday on the woman who was pinned between two parked cars on 5th Avenue South in downtown Edmonds Saturday afternoon.

According to Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley, the woman is in serious condition at Haborview Medical Center “with multiple fractures of lower extremities.”

As we reported Saturday, the victim was standing or walking between two parked cars near Girardi’s restaurant around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, when a vehicle headed southbound on 5th Avenue South hit the back of one of the cars, forcing that car into the pedestrian and pinning her between the two parked vehicles.

Police have not yet released the exact age and city of residence of the victim, as well as that of the driver, or the cause of the crash. On Saturday, Hawley described the victim as being “in her 50s or 60s” and the driver as a woman in her 60s.

  1. Hi Melissa…this is the victim, Ginny Mayer. I have fractures in my pelvis, a broken tibia and both femurs are broken. But the good news is the doctors are saying I should be able to walk again in around 6 months. Thanks for inquiring, Virginia

    1. Ginny,
The greater Edmonds bowl community has been wondering how you are doing, sending you good thoughts, prayers and healing energy. Speaking for many, it is terrific to hear from you, get an update, and learn that within a few (six, give or take) months you should be walking again. That is very good news! Wishing you the very best!

  3. Ginny,
I’m not sure if you’re on Next Door, so I’d like someone’s response with you, “Ginny, we wish you a speedy recovery!! Thanks for the update and yes, we have been thinking of you and sending healing thoughts your way!”

  5. Does anyone know what happened with the woman who crashed her car ?

Thepolice told me she may have had a medical emergency but there has been nothing-that I have seen about her.
Now that we know Ginn is safely healing it would be good to know the full story.
I owned the black car in the pictures.
