The Edmonds Wildlife Habitat Native Plant Demonstration Garden is hosting a community open house and celebration this Saturday, Oct, 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will include garden tours, a native plant sale, and a leaf printing workshop for kids of all ages with artist and naturalist April Richardson. Experts will be on hand to provide information and answer questions on topics that include:
· Pollinators
· Native Plants
· Birds – birding and attracting birds to your back yard
· Certification of back yards
· Frogs and turtles
Edmonds City Councilmember Mike Nelson will attend the cake-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m., recognizing Edmonds’ certification as a Backyard Wildlife Community for the past six years.
The garden is located at 95 Pine Street, at the northwest corner of Edmonds Way (SR 104) and Pine Street, with street parking on Pine. For more information, contact garden@pilchuckaudubon.org or 425-771-8165.
