Girls soccer tournament bracket set; Warriors to begin play Saturday

warrior logoWith the 3A District 1 Girls Soccer Tournament bracket now set, the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors are looking to finish in the tourney’s top four and advance to the state championship tournament next month.

For Edmonds-Woodway, a possible return to the state tournament will begin on Saturday, Oct. 29, with a first-round district match against the winner of the loser-out game between the Everett Seagulls and the Shorecrest Scots on Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The Warriors have qualified for three straight 3A girls soccer state tournaments, placing third last year and winning the state championship in 2014-2015.

E-W (8-1-3 in 2A/3A Wesco League play, 10-2-4 overall) enter the district tournament red-hot, winners of six of their last seven matches. The team’s only loss was a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Arlington Eagles, a potential opponent in the second round of district play.
