Holly House asking for teen gifts to benefit alternative high school students

Holly House logoHolly House, a holiday gift and necessities program for low-income students that primarily serves 15 schools in the Edmonds School District, is hoping to add an alternative high school to the list of schools its supports — but the organization needs community support to make it happen.

“We need more teen gifts,” said Holly House Executive Director Pam Martinez. “Many of these kids are homeless, struggling to raise children, don’t fit into mainstream schooling but are choosing to get the education they need.”

These students are often forgotten around the holidays, Martinez said. “They need to be remembered and helped! They deserve to have a great Christmas!”

Anyone willing to help is asked to donate the following: Target and Fred Meyer gift cards, new shaving kits, makeup kits, curling irons, cologne sets, basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, nail polish sets, hats, scarves, warm pajama bottoms, “and anything else you think a teenager would like,” she said.

Drop your donations off at Sparta’s Pizza & Spaghetti House – 176th and Highway 99, Lynnwood.
