Local Rotary Clubs are joining with area restaurants for a “Dining out to Eradicate Polio” event on World Polio Day, Monday, Oct. 24.
Participating restaurants are:
Bar Dojo, Edmonds
Salt and Iron, Edmonds
190 Sunset, Edmonds
Bridgid’s Bottle Shop, Edmonds
Hill’s Restaurant and Bar, Shoreline
Streetzeria, Shoreline
The Rotary clubs of Alderwood-Terrace, Lynnwood, Edmonds Daybreakers and Edmonds are asking that the restaurants use a specific coaster for the weekend prior possible and on Oct. 24 to create awareness for polio, said Chelsea Tripp of the Alderwood-Terrace Rotary Club.
Starting this weekend, small donation boxes will be present at each restaurant in a prominent location, where people can choose to donate. Tripp said.
The hope is that restaurants will also donate 10 percent of the proceeds for that night toward the fight against polio. “That will help us get double matching dollars from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,” she added.
