Applications are now available for a 2016-17 surplus laptop program for families in need, made possible through a partnership between the Foundation for Edmonds School District and the school district.
Over the past few years, the foundation has worked with the school district to distribute used but operable laptop computers that are no longer in service, and which have been replaced as part of the district’s technology equipment replacement cycle.
To date, over 500 computers have been provided at no cost via a lottery process to families who meet income requirements. Applications for the 2016-17 program are now available and are due Dec. 5. Applicants must include income verification in the form of their free or reduced lunch eligibility letter, or pay stubs demonstrating that they meet the income guidelines stated in the application.
This program is open to families with students in grades PreK-6. Please see the application for complete guidelines and more information.
