Edmonds Center for the Arts (ECA) announced this week the award of a grant from The Boeing Company to support their expanding work for students and educators.

The two-year grant will support a range of programs designed to provide diverse populations of students with meaningful arts education opportunities and increase overall arts participation by teachers and students across Edmonds and surrounding school districts.

Specifically, the grant supports these ECA programs in both 2016 and 2017: annual Summer Arts Enrichment Camps, free Artist Residencies & Outreach programs for young people, and professional development opportunities for educators.

The Boeing Company has supported education and outreach efforts at Edmonds Center for the Arts with a previous grant.  “In 2015-16, ECA was able to engage nearly 11,000 children, families, teachers and community members of all ages through Education & Outreach programming.  Summer Arts Enrichment Camps and Artist Residency & Outreach programs are critical areas of our ongoing engagement with the community. ECA is deeply grateful to The Boeing Company for this support and partnership,” said Gillian Jones, Director of Programming for ECA.

ECA’s next Boeing-supported project is a free Teacher Workshop called Hocus Focus with internationally-renowned illusionist Kevin Spencer. OOSPI as an In-Service Education Agency, participants will be eligible to earn clock-hour credits.
