Men are increasingly turning to cosmetic treatments to represent the best version of themselves for their age. From injectable fillers and “Brotox” to laser hair reduction and Kybella, men are stepping up their game when it comes to maintaining their appearance and aiming to reflect the energy and vitality they feel on the inside.

The goal for most men when it comes to cosmetic treatments is not to have higher cheekbones or fuller lips. Men are leaning toward a rejuvenated and rested look that gives them confidence that pays off both socially and in the work place.

Botox for men, “Brotox”

Botox is becoming a universal cosmetic treatment among both women and men. Botox temporarily inhibits muscle contractions that fold the skin during facial expressions causing winkles, with results that last up to four months. One of the most common uses of Botox for men is to smooth out deep lines of the forehead from raising the brows up and down. Other issues including crow’s feet, brow furrow lines and lip lines are also effectively treated with Botox. Performed correctly, Botox can offer men a refreshed and rested appearance without looking frozen.

Dermal fillers

Hyaluronic acid (HA) found in most dermal fillers is a substance naturally found throughout the body, whose stores decrease with age. HA is linked to collagen production and is a very powerful hydrator for the skin. Dermal fillers are used to restore volume and soften facial lines and wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers including Voluma, Juvederm and Volbella are very popular with men, each with slightly different characteristics to suit the individual’s cosmetic goals.

Skin resurfacing treatments

Treatments such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion are used to remove layers of damaged skin cells, revealing healthier skin underneath. Many man are now turning to lasers and microneedling to add youth and resilience back into their skin. Microneedling is a great minimally-invasive treatment to smooth out fine lines. Laser resurfacing is an effective way of reversing the damaging effects of sun exposure, aging and lifestyle habits (i.e. smoking) on the quality, texture, and tone of the skin of both genders. And of course, laser hair reduction is always popular with the male population, particularly for hairy backs.

Double chin elimination

Kybella is an injectable treatment approved by the FDA that melts fat underneath the chin. When injected into the fat below the chin, known as submental fat, it destroys fat cells, which are reabsorbed by the body. A double chin is very resistant to weight loss and exercise and is genetically inherited. Kybella offers a safe and permanent way to eliminate the double chin without the downtime of surgery. This a great non-surgical option for men looking to gain a more chiseled jawline or for men sick of being choked by their neck ties.
