The rain and wind did nothing to dampen the spirits of hundreds of Edmonds citizens and visitors of all ages who packed the streets in front of City Hall for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting celebration sponsored by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce.
The annual celebration officially kicks off the holiday season in Edmonds and features musical performances by local groups, an array of booths offering everything from hot spiced cider to popcorn, and culminates with a countdown to flipping the switch that lights the holiday tree.
While this year’s celebration was marked by a sea of umbrellas and rain gear, the faces underneath were beaming with the special joys of the season.
