Get in spirit by dashing for a good cause at Dec. 3 Police Foundation Run/Walk

The weather’s scheduled to be dry this Saturday morning, so sign up to run or walk in the 2016 Edmonds Police Foundation’s 5K Holiday Dash Walk/Run, starting and ending at Civic Field, 310 6th Ave. N., in Edmonds. Registration starts at 8 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club.

Applications for the Dec. 3 run are online at The police foundation is raising money for the purchase of an educational training system called the Prism. It’s a shoot/don’t shoot training simulator enabling officers to learn and practice skills needed during life-threatening circumstances.

“Running as a family, with friends or in groups is a fun way to begin the holiday season,” said Foundation President Darlene Stern. “Wear those terrific red holiday shirts that come with your application fee, and your favorite holiday scarf and Christmas socks. See you there!”
