Wine to Water, a fundraising auction sponsored last month by Edmonds-based Pur Skin Clinic to build a community well in Haiti, raised more than $35,000 — enough to build two wells, said Pur Skin founder Denice Schwind.

According to nonprofit Haiti Outreach, the money generated during the event will go toward building two new community wells, helping more than 600 people to gain sustainable access to clean water near their homes. In addition, $5,000 of the funds will be used for relief efforts following Hurricane Matthew, which devastated the southern peninsula of Haiti a few days after the Wine to Water fundraiser.
