Reminder: Public invited to hear sustainability ideas from Western students Dec. 1

wwu-logoStudents from Western Washington University will be coming to Edmonds to do presentations of work they have completed as part of the recent Sustainable Cities Partnership between the City of Edmonds and WWU.

The free presentations take place Thursday, Dec. 1, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Plaza Room, which is located above the Edmonds Library at 650 Main St.

Ten students from the Campus Sustainability Planning Studio course will present on three topics that address goals outlined in the City’s Zero Waste Resolution, which was approved by the Edmonds City Council this past April.

The topics are: Organics Collection at Public Events, Construction and Demolition Materials Recycling, and Contamination in the Recycling Stream.

The students welcome any feedback on these topics, so time will be made to offer questions and comments to the presenters. Light refreshments will be available.
