Sherwood Elementary named 2016 School of Distinction

school-of-distinction-2016Edmonds’ Sherwood Elementary has been named a 2016 School of Distinction, one of 94 schools statewide to be honored by the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) and their partner organizations for continuous and substantive improvement.

Sherwood is one of the top 5 percent highest-improving schools in Washington state for increased English language arts (ELA) and mathematics achievement over the past five years.

“It is truly an honor to work with a staff dedicated to student learning and growth, both academically and socially,” Principal Christi Kessler said. “I also want to thank our community, for sharing your children with us, working with us and supporting us in your child’s educational journey. We are grateful to be in partnership with you!”
