The Snohomish County Tourism Bureau’s South County Visitor Information Center in Lynnwood is collecting new pillows and blankets as part of an effort to support local boys in need. The donation drive will take place Dec. 1-31.
Items donated will be provided to the Snohomish County group home program of Pioneer Human Services. Snohomish County Tourism Bureau has supported this organization through holiday giving programs for the past two years.
“As we head toward the year’s end, tremendous need exists to provide new blankets and pillows for the boys at Pioneer Human Services,” said Stacey Pfeiffer, visitor services and training manager at Snohomish County Tourism Bureau. “These are most frequently requested as wish list items at this time of year, and no young person should do without.”
The Visitor Information Center is wrapping up a diapers and toiletries drive Nov. 30 for Pioneer’s in-home counseling program, which supports families in need. “We truly appreciate the generosity of those who have given to date for our November drive,” said Pfeiffer. “But the need for basic items is still great, and we hope to receive additional donations to support this program.”
The South County Visitor Information Center is located at Heritage Park, 19921 Poplar Way in Lynnwood; it is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
