Progress continues on fundraising for the Edmonds Veterans Plaza, with installation planned outside the City of Edmonds Public Safety Complex at 5th and Bell. The plaza development committee said in an announcement Wednesday it has raised more than $521,000, with a goal of reaching $575,000.
For those who have yet to make a contribution, time is running short. Those contributing $500 or more will receive the opportunity to honor a veteran through a paver that will be placed on the plaza. If donors do not have a specific veteran to honor, contributions of $500 or more can be used to recognize deserving veterans who lack the financial resources to purchase a paver.
In addition, those who give at least $1,000 will be recognized on the donor wall. There are also recognition opportunities for donors at levels of $5,000, $7,500 and $10,000 and above.
“We have been very fortunate to have received a number of contributions at these levels, and more are needed as we complete the campaign,” said development chair Tom Mesaros.
Donations of any size are welcome to help move the plaza to completion. Contributions can be made to Edmonds Veterans Plaza, c/o Edmonds VFW Post 8870, PO Box 701, Edmonds, WA 98020. Checks should be made payable to Edmonds VFW Post 8870, indicating that the check is for the new plaza. They can also be made online at https://edmondsveteransplaza.com. Credit cards are accepted.
