Scene in Edmonds: The Hotel Group gives back

A steady drizzle didn’t dampen the spirit of employees of downtown Edmonds’ The Hotel Group, who gathered at Yost Park Wednesday morning to remove weeds and spread about 60 yards of wood chips at Yost Park around the pool area.

The volunteer effort is part of the company’s Good Neighbor Program, created in 2006 to formalize its longstanding commitment to partner with non-profit organizations in communities where they operate hotels. The Hotel Group’s Edmonds corporate office over the years has supported community service projects with Food Lifeline, The Big Climb, Seattle Children’s Hospital Radio-thon and holiday family sponsorship and individual volunteer efforts.
