Scene in Edmonds: A growing lesson for Holy Rosary students

Just in time for Earth Day, Edmonds’ Holy Rosary School has sprouted its own campus garden. Several families and students volunteered their time and supplies to construct the several-tiered garden next to the school’s gym, which will be maintained by  students at the K-8 school. Over the past week, students have begun seeding it with a variety of vegetables and other plants. The garden will serve as a hands-on tool for a variety of science and environmental lessons at school, as well as contribute produce for the community. Pictured here are several first graders planting pumpkin seeds for a pumpkin patch next fall.
