Scene in Edmonds: 52 days without rain — and counting

With the Seattle area marking a record 52 days without rainfall, an Edmonds resident sent this photo of Good Hope Pond in Pine Ridge Park. “There is hardly any water left in what was once a pond,” said the resident, who requested anonymity. “Hiking past there for the past 25 years – have never observed it so dry before.” Rain is in the forecast — finally — for this Sunday.

  1. With our third successive dry summer, I feel like I am back in California: no rain, high temps, dirty air, and parched lawns.
