Edmonds girl finds $240, turns it into police

Anyone misplace $240 this week?

According to Edmonds police, a 12-year-old Edmonds girl riding her bike downtown last week found that amount of cash on the sidewalk in front of the Edmonds Museum. She took the money home to her mother, who brought the girl to the police station to turn it in.

Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley said the money will revert to the girl if no one comes forward to claim it. However, he noted that “cash is hard to establish ownership. We would be hard pressed to have someone prove the cash that was just turned in belonged to them.”

  1. I always say the BEST PLACE to lose something is Edmonds. If a local resident finds it most likely you will get it back..
