Edmonds police hire two new recruits, but more openings to fill

Edmonds police has announced the hiring of two entry-level police recruits: Jocelyn Giammalva and Ashley James. And with several more retirements expected in the coming year, the department has three more positions to fill, according to Sgt. Josh McClure.

Giammalva currently works at Acura of Lynnwood as a customer service liaison between sales, service and management. She attended the University of Idaho and Washington State University to earn her college degree. She also played collegiate and professional soccer before moving into the workforce.

James is coming to Edmonds PD from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, where she has been working as a Records Tech. She graduated from WSU and also worked in the health care field before turning her focus to law enforcement.
